In the old times, the walkway acted as an important connection between Tongsiao and Sanyi. It starts from Fusing area in Tongsiao, passing Santong Ridge, Dakeng, Sihkeng to arrive Sanyi Train Station. With a total length of about five kilometers, there are well-preserved forests with small Philippine acacia, camphor trees, Calocedrus formosana Florin, Tung Oil trees and other indigenous tree species. The winding walkway is a charming green tunnel hiding in the deep forests. 

The Shuanghu Village Representative Lin De-jyun started the initiative to explore and renovate the walkway. It is a conjoint effort with the community building plan, hoping to remind villagers of the hardship faced by their ancestors and their diligent spirit in times of reclamation. The Shuanghu Community Development Association invited master Fu Syue-rong to create a masterpiece in commemoration of their ancestors. It is a work depicting a coal-bearer. The smile on the wrinkled face along with its body gesture shows the easeful attitude of life. The artwork represents the spirit of the old times and is now placed at the entrance of the Dakeng Old Walkway on Miao No.48.
